Documentation
Moonship is privacy-friendly website analytics that does the noticing for you. It tracks your traffic without cookies, then uses AI to surface what changed, explain why, and flag what's worth acting on — so you walk away with findings, not just dashboards.
Getting started

Add Moonship to your site's <head> and start tracking pageviews, sessions, and events.

Connect your tools
Send signal alerts to Slack and connect Claude to your analytics via MCP.
How Moonship works
- Install the snippet. Drop one lightweight, cookie-free script into your site's <head>. Pageviews, sessions, sources, devices, and locations start flowing within seconds.
- Watch your traffic. The Analytics dashboard and real-time Live stream show who's on your site, where they came from, and what they're doing.
- Let the AI notice for you. Moonship continuously scans your data for meaningful changes and surfaces them as Signals — each with an explanation of why it's happening and what to do about it.
- Act on what matters. Turn signals into prioritized Recommendations, get alerts in Slack, or just Ask plain-English questions about your traffic — inside Moonship or in Claude via MCP.
Privacy by default
Moonship is built to be privacy-friendly from the ground up. It doesn't use cookies and stores no personally identifiable information about your visitors, so in most cases you can run it without a cookie banner. Location is derived from IP at collection time and never stored as a raw address. See the Security and Privacy pages for details.
